Chef Niko from H-E-B’s Cooking Connection was serving up his “Queen D’s chicken” at the Spring, TX’s H-E-B and it was soooooo goood. Sweet, savory, complex, and of course everybody was asking for seconds!! Why ‘Queen D’s’ chicken? “Queen D’ is an homage to Queen Dido, also known as Elyssa, the legendary leader who fled Tyre (present day Lebanon) and crossed the Mediterranean to found the Phoenician city state of Carthage (present day Tunisia) in 814 BC. For those of you who want to give Chef Niko’s recipe a try, here it is: 1 pound (16 oz.) - Natural Boneless Chicken Breast Tenders 1 tablespoon - Meat Church Dia De La Fajita Rub 2 tablespoons - Kelley's Hot Honey 1 tablespoon - Zwita Smoky Traditional Harissa 2 teaspoons - Spice World Minced Garlic 2 teaspoons - Spice World Minced Ginger 1. Evenly season all chicken breast tenders & set aside. In a separate bowl pour honey, garlic, ginger & harissa then stir until evenly mixed. 2. In a large pan on a medium-high heat add enough oil to lightly coat the bottom of the pan. 3. Pan sauté chicken breasts for 4-6 minutes per side or until fully cooked then pour sauce over the chicken. 4. Serve with rice, chickpeas, or your preferred sides & ENJOY!
