We have visited multiple times a year, in every season, for the past 4 years and have compiled a list of the best hikes. These hikes are all super scenic, have varying levels of difficulty, and are in various areas of the park to give you hiking options no matter where you visit. 🏔️Fremont Lookout is a 5.5 mile round trip hike where you hike up to a fire lookout. This hike is in the popular Sunrise area so there is a lot to do nearby making it a great area to visit for a day or two. 🏔️Tipsoo & Dewey Lake Loop is an almost 7 mile hike that is great to do in the summer so you can cool off in one of the few lakes you hike by. You can cut the loop short by foregoing Dewey Lake if 7 miles is too long for you. 🏔️Skyline Loop is the most iconic Rainier hike!! It is in the Paradise area of the park and this 6 mile loop takes you to the best views of the mountain. We recommend hiking the loop clockwise for the best views and to get most of the elevation gain out of the way. Go early or at sunset as this hike can get very busy. 🏔️Tolmie Peak is a 5.5 mile out and back trail that takes you to another fire lookout. This hike is beautiful, especially at sunset, and the lake is a great one to swim in! 🏔️Silver Falls is the shortest and most family-friendly hike on the list at .7 miles or 2.5 miles depending what trailhead you start at. This is a great low-elevation hike that we always do if the weather on the mountain is not great. NO dogs are allowed on any of these trails since they are in the national park.
