Chinese New Year is like Thanksgiving and Christmas combined - itβs all about family, tradition, and of course, AMAZING food! π§§β¨ Hereβs everything we feasted on to welcome the Year of the Snake: π Fish for abundance β steamed black bass, fried osmanthus fish, and pan-fried seabass π Noodles for longevity β canβt start the year without them! π¦ Lobster & seafood (shrimp, scallop, squid) β bringing prosperity and good fortune π Pork for wealth β we had it spicy stir-fried & fried in vinegar sauce π¦ Dungeness crab & fried oysters β because more seafood = more luck! π₯£ Lamb soup with homemade fishballs, wontons & quail eggs β all round items for family unity π Sticky purple rice & nian gao β for a SWEET and prosperous year ahead π And since itβs the Year of the Snake, we got the cutest chestnut cake from Anntremet! π Before we eat, we always honor our ancestors first.
