When working with foals, there is a very small window of time to prevent permanent deviations before the growth plates fuse. This “golden window” is roughly from 1-3 months of age. Due to foals rapid growth, regular check-in are necessary. This first set was applied on December 3rd and her next check was two weeks later. I agree thrush, only if given long enough time and if of other variables are met could possibly add to heel contraction but in my experience, I’ve seen the polar opposite effect-and the horse lands heel first. Either way fascinating take on this subject and definitely thought provoking.
