These pie dough love notes need just four ingredients and are such a fun treat for Valentine’s Day! ✉️ 💕 One of my favorite things about this recipe is how simple it is! You need less than five ingredients: 1. Pie Dough (one pie dough package will yield about 7-8 love notes, depending on size.) 2. Approximately 1 tablespoon jam, jelly, or preserves per envelope. You can use any flavor, such as strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, or grape. 3. One egg (for egg wash) 4. Approximately two tablespoons powdered sugar (also called Confectioner’s sugar) 5. Optional Ingredients: Valentine’s Day sprinkles, any color icing. Directions: 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut out small diamond shapes (about 4 inches tall) from the pie dough. 3. Cut out small heart shapes using a small heart cookie cutter and set aside. If you don’t have one, you can also freehand or create your own with a piece of paper. Just place the heart cut-out on top of the dough and cut around it. 4. In the center of the diamond, spoon 1-2 tablespoons of jam, jelly, or preserves. 5. Fold the two side corners into the center of the diamond, over the jam. 6. Fold the bottom corner up over the two side corners and place the heart cut-out on top. (Leave the top corner open. Some jam/jelly/preserves will be visible.) 7. Crack an egg into a bowl and stir with a fork or whisk. Brush egg wash on top of envelopes and place in oven. 8. Bake until golden brown (approximately 10 minutes) and sprinkle with powdered sugar and/or sprinkles. 9. Optional Tip: If you’d like to add color to your pie dough love notes, add any color frosting or icing to the envelope seams or the cut-out heart. #ValentinesDay #valentine #valentines #momhack #momhacks #dessert #desserts #lunchideasforkids #kidlunches
