“Hay comida en la casa”🎀 make easy chicken flautas with me, with whatever ingredients I have at home! recipe below includes additions I didn’t have at home tonight, but would make these even better! Sharing my journey living in my first home, slowly getting into my señora era! + learning to cook foods I enjoyed while growing up! 🇲🇽🥹 Salsa verde 4-5 Tomatillos 5-7 Jalapeños or Serrano’s (or both) (optional) 3-4 chile de árbol (for extra 🌶️🌶️) 1/3 White Onion 2-4 Fresh garlic cloves 1 bunch of Cilantro Juice of 1 Lime Salt to taste Pepper to taste Knorr Caldo de Pollo or “chicken bouillon” to taste (Optional) add avocado to make creamy avocado green salsa 1. lightly grill, fry, or boil the jalapeños/serranos, onion & garlic. 2. Easy Chicken Flautas Roasted chicken Queso fresco or queso Oaxaca (or both) Corn tortillas Crema mexicana or sour cream Lettuce Avocado oil 1. Pull chicken from roasted chicken to make “shredded chicken” and put aside in a bowl. 2. (Optional, if you have the ingredients) for added flavor, add 2 diced small tomatoes and 1/2 a diced onion to a pan and sauté over medium heat until translucent. Add shredded chicken. Add cheese of choice (I usually use a mix of queso fresco, mozzarella and queso Oaxaca) Then, season with chicken bouillon to taste. Set aside. 3. Heat up corn tortilla for a minute to soften. 4. Fill corn tortilla with shredded chicken and cheese of choice. (Or use the chicken mixture from above) 5. Heat up avocado oil on medium heat. 6. Place rolled up flautas, ‘seal’ side down, on oil and let fry until golden brown or until desired crispiness is achieved. 7. (Optional) instead of frying, place in air fryer and spray flautas with oil of choice. Air fry at 400 degrees for 5 minutes and flip. Continue to air fry until desired crispiness is achieved. 8. Top flautas with shredded lettuce, crema (or sour cream), salsa verde (or other salsa) other optional toppings: pico de gallo or sliced tomatoes and onions, guacamole + enjoy!! Common sides: beans, Mexican rice. Or enjoy alone!!
