Who installs cap over corners? This is very common in the PNW because it works. We've pulled corners off on old buildings to remodel, and you can see the orginal layout and the siding looks brand new behind the corners. One reason we do this, is that besides protection, its a "no caulk" detail. This means that there is no maintenance required for the owner. I was gobsmacked the first time I saw @RR Buildings post this technique about 5 years ago. I'm not particularly good at this, it's custom metal that I think is 18ga. It does the job. Incidentally THIS is why I love video. LEARNING. . You might be wondering about the @Benjamin Obdyke installed before the water table and metal. It doesn't matter since we are using their acrylic tape. The "reverse lap" is irrelevant due to the acrylic tape bonding with the Hydrogap SA. .
