If you are struggling with symptoms of MCAS, it’s soooo important to figure out the root cause! The 3 biggest ones that I’ve seen working a lot with people struggling with MCAS are #moldtoxicity (this is the number 1 root cause I see), parasite overgrowth, and/or heavy metal toxicity. If you need help finding the root cause of your MCAS so you can finally heal and live a more normal life again, book your free consult with us (link in bio). #hypermobility #edsawareness #mastcell #mcas #moldtoxicity #moldillness #ehlersdanlossyndrome #mastcellactivationsyndrome #mastcellactivationdisorder #histaminesensitivity #chronicillness #pots #dysautonomia

histamine intolerance is not the same thing as mcas. Though they go hand in hand they are not the same. A lot of people who have mcas also can't just heal themselves naturally. Just shut up and stop telling people they can heal their mcas with just pepcid just bc it helped your histamine intolerance😭😭😭😭😭 #mcas #mcasawareness #mastcell #mastcellactivationsyndrome #mastcellactivationdisorder #mastcellactivation #mcasgirlies #mastcells #histamineintolerance ##histaminesensitivity #chronicillness #chronicillnessawareness #multiplechronicillnesses #invisibleillness #invisibledisability

💎 Save this quick tool & use it when you feel anxious or dysregulated this week 💎. December can be a traumatic time for many people. We are “supposed” to feel safe, happy, and comforted by the family around us. But what if we’ve experienced trauma? What if we have had a death in the family? What if we are sick and just not feeling ourselves? You don’t have to be anything that you’re not. So… if you’re feeling sick or chronic symptoms today, you may be asking yourself: “Why am I so fatigued? “Why do I have pain with no obvious root cause?” “Why am I constantly experiencing hypervigilance?” My answer: there could be a miscommunication happening between the brain & body. The hypothalamus is the part of your brain responsible for regulating several bodily functions, including appetite, sleep, temperature, metabolism, and growth. Chronic stress causes an increase in overall cortisol output and sustained activation of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis, which can result in a drastically reduced ability to cope with stress...and a laundry list of symptoms. ⚠️You may know this as “adrenal fatigue.” It’s not—it’s HPA axis dysregulation. This same part of the brain becomes activated when we experience positive emotions, like gratitude, flooding our brains with the feel-good chemical dopamine. It’s our thoughts that inform our emotions, and our emotions trigger physical sensations in the body. When we make slight shifts to our focus, we alter our neurochemistry in a way that helps build resilience in the face of traumatic & stressful events. Positive rumination is associated with cyclical & repetitive thoughts centering on what’s going WELL, similar to how negative rumination involves repetitively focusing on what’s going wrong. 🥰It causes feel-good neurochemicals to remain in the body longer, promoting HPA axis balance that can lead to changes in chronic symptoms. You can start today. Reset is our 7-day introductory course that helps people move INTO a state of rest-and-digest, giving you a taste of brain retraining. Start this week for just $15. If you don’t think you’re stressed… but your body is responding with sensitivities, pain, and inflammation, this is a PSA for you. Trauma is stored in your body and nervous system – not the mind. This is a HUGE part of the work I do in Vital-Side and why I include mental exercises (brain) combined with somatic tools (body) to break the pattern of chronic stress and signal a message of safety. The memory and emotional centers of your brain like your hippocampus and amygdala (limbic system!) store past experiences, including the traumatic ones. When you feel emotions or perceive situations as similar to ones you’ve had in the past, this is your unconscious mechanism of protection. Your brain communicates danger to your body through hormones, and your body communicates danger right back to your brain. This negative feedback loop plays on repeat until the cycle is stopped. And when we have lived with trauma for an extended period of time, we can live in this feedback loop for years. Does this describe you?! I get it, I’ve been there too – and I had NO idea. It starts with awareness. Then, we take action. I’m so excited, we developed a FREE QUIZ to help you understand if your nervous system is dysregulated and you’re living in a state of survival. You can take the quiz at the 🔗 in my bio to find out if you are living in a state of survival. #neuroplasticity #epigenetics #mastcellactivationsyndrome #mastcelldisease #mastcellactivation #mastcellactivationdisorder #chronicfatiguewarrior #inflammation #inflammationrelief #fightflightfreeze #fightorflight #chronicpainrelief #painfree #mcas #potssyndrome #moldillness #fibromyalgiawarrior #chronicfatiguewarrior #trauma #traumahealing

Patients with MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) may experience numerous symptoms, which can significantly disrupt daily life. This activation can impact several organ systems, including the respiratory, cardiovascular, skin, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems. The graphic provides examples of potential effects associated with different MCAS mediators. Please note: This list is not comprehensive and serves only as an example. Mast cells secrete a range of mediators that lead to numerous symptoms across various organ systems. MCAS can be hard to diagnose. There are blood and urine tests, but these are frequently normal. The symptoms of MCAS can often be brought under control through the use of antihistamines, mast cell stabilizers, and other medications. Dr. David Saperstein worked with a group of mast cell activation specialists, led by Dr. Lawrence Afrin to propose new diagnostic criteria to update a Diagnosis Journal first published on January 22, 2014. This journal is called Diagnosis of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome: a Global “Consensus-2”.
