Welcome home Ash š„¹ Last night Ashton was able to leave the hospital and come home and I was so grateful to be able to walk out of the childrenās hospital with my son. Raising a medically complex child is the hardest thing, I spent the last three days trying to figure out why he had this fever. The doctors did all the tests and all the labs and they still couldnāt figure out what is causing it. I slept right next to him on the most uncomfortable couch chair but I was glad to be there every time the doctors did rounds. I will always advocate for him and his health at the hospital. We made the decision with his doctors that it was better for him to keep taking his stress dose medications and antibiotics at home. He was having the hardest time having to stay in his hospital room the entire time. There wasnāt much else the doctors could do for his fever. He is now recovering at home and I hope this fever will go away soon. It does go away at times but comes back too. Hopefully today heāll stop having a fever and go back to being his happy and incredible self that Iāve been missing all these days. I canāt believe we made it through another December hospital stay, I met so many moms at the hospital who will probably be spending Christmas with their kids there and I admired their strength and their stories. Raising a medically complex child has changed my perspective on so many things and Iāll never take for granted the times Ashton is healthy. Thank you for being here for us while we were at the hospital, the messages, the meals and all the help from friends and family it meant the world.
