A dive into my deep thoughts lately: As a woman of many self taught hobbies: I’ve realized I always skip the foundation. I managed to acquire the building blocks but it’s never enough to seek improvement. This was a lesson I learned that went beyond my hobbies but how it corresponds with life. After the recent plane/hellicopter collision (and many of the passengers being figure skaters), I had something sort of an epiphany. I had to step back and ask myself if I am living my life like it’s my dream or is this someone else’s. Which led me to realize I’ve been choosing the path of mediocrity. I found that I self-sabotage and prevent myself from reaching a higher potential. But why is that? It was never that I wasn’t capable. But I’ve finally accepted I take a lot of things for granted. I might be going on a tangent, but I am grateful for the opportunities God has provided me but I will always regret never focusing on the foundation and grounding myself to improve. There’s someone in the world who wishes they were in my position, someone who feels I have it all together, but I don’t. Mediocrity comes from the act of never pursuing. God blesses us with the ability to pursue and for me to take it for granted is a reflection of how I’ve neglected myself. (Maybe a little harsh but it’s the truth).
