Replying to @Kelly Craig Using your arms as a skater is super important and here is why! You SHOULD use your arms to help you safely fall in skating. Obviously most falls are not planned and can catch you by surprise. It is very important to make sure you understand the best and safest way to catch yourself to avoid injuries as much as possible. As someone that has actually gone through the proper training process I am to tell you that you should use your arms to help assist you when falling. Purposely avoiding using your arms or putting hands in your pockets will put you at a much higher risk for injuries. Especially head injuries! Using your arms is essential for balance, jumping, spinning, and even falling. You do want to avoid locking your elbows or trying to catch yourself with the palms of your hands. That can lead to injury or a lasting uncomfortable pain. If you are worried about wrist injuries you can purchase special skating gloves or even wrist guards #figureskatingtiktok #iceskatingtiktok #didyouknow #learntoskate #iceskatingbeginner #skatingtutorials
