I know you guys love seeing sweet moments between mom and dad! This post is filled with them! You can get a sense of them and also the laughter/humor between them! This was right after our care plan meeting. So during our quick visit her feet pads were brought and attached to the wheelchair. After our visit the head nurse was upstairs waiting to observe mom eating lunch. It was nice to see changes being made so quickly after our meeting. There are times when mom’s words cut right to the place in my heart that feels complete and total guilt for not being able to rescue her from her predicament. From the disease, to her living conditions, sll of it is awful and there has been so little I could do to save her from it. I feel that so deeply. No way to get rid of it that feeling. I can reason it out of my head with all the reasons for why and how we are here. But it only throws a blanket on the guilt. The guilt lives comfortably in my mind. How does YOUR cookie smell? She eats differently every single time! And it panicks me a bit because I know where we could be headed.
