One of the most essential parts of riding shouldn’t be the toughest! Many of us feel tightness in our lower body when getting on our horses, which can make it challenging to ride taller horses, cause us to rely on mounting blocks and put unnecessary pressure on our horse’s body. With a little consistent stretching we can gain flexibility in our hips and hamstrings to make this much more comfortable.  These stretches will also keep you feeling loose and limber to prevent tightness in your hips while riding. Lastly, your horse will thank you as mounting becomes more comfortable to you, it will cause less irritation or pain to your horse’s withers and spine.
