🎄 Marzipan Stollen 🎄 The most beloved holiday dessert, Marzipan Stollen, is here! It makes a delightful treat for breakfast or brunch, bursting with almond and apricot filling. This braided holiday bread is sure to become a family favorite! 🥧💚 ✔️ Ingredients (Bread) - 3 to 3 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour - 1/3 Cup Granulated Sugar - 1 Package Active Dry Yeast, 1/4 oz - 1 1/4 Cups Whole Milk - 6 Tbsp Unsalted Butter, cubed - 1 Tbsp Lemon Zest - 1 Tbsp Orange Zest - 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon - 2 Oz Dried Apricots, small diced ✔️ Ingredients (Filling) - 1 12.5 Oz Can Almond Cake & Pastry Filling - 1 Cup Almonds, finely ground - 1 Tbsp Whole Milk - 1 Tsp Rum Extract ✔️ Ingredients (Glaze) - 1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar - 1/2 Tsp Whole Milk - 1/4 Tsp Vanilla Extract ✔️ How to Make 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour with the sugar and yeast. 2. Heat the milk and butter to 50°C / 120°F. Then add the mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until moistened. Add lemon and orange zest, cinnamon, and chopped apricots, then mix until smooth. 3. Knead the dough until smooth. Using a greased mixing bowl, grease the top of the dough. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place, or place it in your LG oven on the proof setting for about one hour. 4. For the filling – Ground the almonds using a food processor, then mix the almond pastry filling: almonds, milk, and the extract. 5. Knead the dough and divide it into three equal pieces. Spread the filling and roll each portion, pinching the seam to seal. Place the ropes on a baking tray and cut down the center of each rope. Then, braid the three ropes into one braid. 6. Cover the tray with a kitchen towel and allow to rise in a warm place until almost doubled, or place it in your LG oven on the proof setting for about 30 minutes. 7. Preheat the oven to 375°C / 700°F and bake until golden brown, around 30-35 minutes. 8. Cool the stollen for 30 minutes. Combine the glaze ingredients in a small bowl and drizzle over the stollen.
