Aaron Sorkin, like Ken Burns, is part of the liberal nationalist mythmaking machine that has spent decades making sure the enslaver “patriots” and their collaborators in slave power are everyone’s heroes—not just the far right’s, but the left’s too. This is the heart of “patriotic education” and why liberal nationalists have been utterly incapable of confronting the far-right’s raw, amoral ferocity.
