Here’s WHY I feel this way⬇️ As a mom and pediatric pt myself, I have big opinions on baby products so here’s my thoughts on these specifically. ❌Jumpers suck because it puts weight from the feet up through the hips, which, if used BEFORE 15-20 months, can increase the risk of hip dislocation, toe walking, and alignment issues in the knees, ankles, and hips. ✅The Sit Me Up is a good option for short periods of sitting for your 3-4mo+ and takes pressure off the head for kids with torticollis and plagiocephaly. ❌The Solly Wrap and similar styles to it is complicated because it’s challenging to put on and not good for heavier babies due to flexible fabric. It’s also not very friendly for a petite parent. ✅I LOVE the Little Tykes Trampoline because it has a crossbar that’s lower in height that allows for kiddos 20mo+ to practice jumping in a healthy way for their little hips. ✅Skip Hop is a great 3-in-1 activity center for LOs from 7mo+ for standing and for cruising kiddos to walk around, which is a great BANG for your buck! ❌The Melissa and Doug Walker sucks because it is lightweight and so flimsy meaning it can tip over easily. The upright hand bar position makes it difficult to walk behind without tripping. So many better options and y’all KNOW I love Melissa and Doug. ✅Baby Bjorn Bouncer has a nice cushion allowing for freedom of motion for the head and neck decreasing risk of flathead. It also has varying incline levels which can accommodate different ages of babies. Tag a new mom in the comments or save for later when shopping for your LO this year! 👀STAY TUNED FOR PART 2 COMING TOMORROW! #babyproducts #newmom #babyregistry #toddleractivities #babyshower #pedspt #grossmotordevelopment

A couple of you are wondering how to specifically become a pediatric PT ⭐️ : the answer is you just apply to a job in a pediatric setting after PT school - there is nothing special needed to specifically be a Peds PT. However, a Peds residency and taking the PCS exam can help you improve your skills as a Peds PT 😊🫡 #pt #pedspt #ptschool #physicaltherapy #dptschool #physicaltherapist #ptstudent #physicaltherapystudent

PART✌🏼:Baby products you SHOULD buy! Yesterday’s common section got wild lol. Let me clarify, this page is never been a space to put you down for a product that’s in your house, but instead use these opportunities to tell you benefits and recommendations from a fellow mom of two and pediatric PT who works with kids on a daily basis! 💗So if you are a new mom, have a mom friend, or are wondering what to buy someone from their registry this year, I’ve linked these specific products in my stories which will be saved under my BABY PRODUCTS highlight! Disclaimer, most of these products (or versions close to these) were used with my own children and I loved them, so I’m sharing my OWN experience and opinion behind each one🙃 #babyproducts #purposefulplay #babymilestones #kinactivekids #pedspt #newmom
Look familiar?😅 Here’s how you can help! Let me start by reminding you prop sitting (sitting while weight bearing through arms) emerges around 4mo and upright sitting (without arms and a straight back) emerges around 6mo! Try these hacks to help your LO tackle this milestone: ⭐️(3mo+) Place a folded towel in your Sit Me Up to ensure better posture ⭐️(5mo+) Hold a toy midline to 🔥 tummy muscles and add sitting support ⭐️(5mo+) Sit at a mirror with a suction toy at chest level to engage tummy muscles ⭐️(5mo+) Place in side sitting if you have a flinger when placed in seated position To see some other exercises in action view my stories or find them in my SITTING highlight on Instagram👏🏼 #kinactivekids #purposefulplay #pediatricpt #sittingprep #independentsitting #pedspt #grossmotorskills #grossmotordevelopment #momhacks #babymilestones
