During pregnancy you should avoid having your hips higher than your heart as it can impact blood flow. Instead of a pike, here are a few exercises you can do instead to modify during your class. Of course, you can always reach out to your instructor or doctor if you have any concerns. @thereformedpilates1 ❤️ #pilates #reformerpilates #prenatalpilates #newmom #pregnant #gym #pilatesoutfit #pilatesworkout #pilateslover #pregnancyexercise #pilatesworkout #secondtrimester #thirdtrimester

Are you a Pilates teacher trying to get deeper with your cues and how you teach? Here are a few ideas to start adding in, if you aren’t already! I’d love to hear other teacher’s ideas as well - leave them in the comments!! 1. Teach the why and how - instead of just setting them up and leading them through choreography and repetitions, explain why they’re doing the exercise, and give them tangible steps of how to improve. Make sure your cues aren’t just describing where their body is going in space but also what the sensation is internally! Be as specific as possible. 2. Make it personal - make your cues as personal and specific to the client as possible. Tie it back to the how and why, and remember to always say their name! Use hands on cues and verbal cues simultaneously to give the best experience. 3. Teach the connections - help clients understand the history and deeper connections of the system in class. They always appreciate a little history, and it helps provide context for what they are doing, even if it is a simple mat class. 4. Ask them what they’re feeling - at the end of the day, it’s their workout! Ask them what they’re feeling and pivot if needed! #pilates #classicalpilates #pilatesinstructor #pilatesteacher #pilatesreformer #pilateslover #pilatesbody #pilatesworkout
