Technology and unhealthy food have contributed to a sedentary lifestyle and overconsumption of processed meals, fueling obesity, chronic diseases, and mental health issues. Over-reliance on screens worsens physical inactivity, while fast food dominates diets, weakening overall health. #TechHealthCrisis #UnhealthyHabits #ProcessedFood #DigitalSedentary #FastFoodEpidemic #HealthMatters #ScreenTimeRisks #NutritionAwareness #MindBodyHealth #WellnessFirst

The FDA allows food companies to bring new food additives to market under the generally recognized as safe ā€œgrasā€ status without conducting their own pre market safety review testing. The GRAS loophole has resulted in 98.7% of new chemical additives that entered the market to only be reviewed by the food manufacturers. There are over 1,000 current food additives used in food that have not been independently tested for their safety. Natural flavors fall under GRAS status and can contain 80-90% synthetic additives that arenā€™t disclosed. Senators Cory Booker and Ed Market want to put an end to the FDA loophole. #additives #processedfood #gras #chemicals #foodadditives #toxic #naturalflavors #organic #synthetic #health #food #upf #cleaneating

We need to rethink the stigma around processed foods. Take a can of wild mackerel, for example. Its ingredientsā€”mackerel, extra virgin olive oil, water, and saltā€”are undeniably healthy and nutritionally dense, yet itā€™s considered a processed food. Similarly, Greek yogurt is a processed food. It doesnā€™t come straight from a cowā€™s udder as Greek yogurt; it undergoes a processā€“milk selection, pasteurization, cooling, culturing, incubation, straining, flavoringā€“to become the food we enjoy. When I see people touting their processed foods as a series of single-ingredient, whole foods, I canā€™t help but laugh at the irony. It makes me think of the people following the carnivore diet sharing their animal-based ice cream recipes which is made primarily of fruit. Clearly, fruit isnā€™t animal-based; botanically speaking, fruits are one of six forms of plants. I get the marketing appeal of oversimplified labels, but itā€™s time for some common sense. Letā€™s challenge these narratives and hold people accountable for spreading misleading information. #processedfood #nutritiontips #healthyeating #healthyeatinghabits #healthyeatingtips #healthyeats #trackingmacros #macrocounting #caloriedeficit #caloriecounting #caloriesincaloriesout #weightloss #weightlosstips #performancecoach #personaltrainer #nyctrainer #nycfitnesstrainer #nycfitfam

Breaking News: The FDA has officially banned Red No. 3, a synthetic food dye commonly found in candies, beverages, and other processed foods. This decision follows evidence linking the dye to cancer in lab animals. Red No. 3 has long been a controversial ingredient. Studies have shown that it can cause DNA damage, disrupt thyroid function, and potentially increase the risk of hyperactivity and behavioral issues in children. Despite these concerns, it has been used in thousands of food products for decades. This ban highlights the importance of continuing to scrutinize what we consume and advocate for cleaner, safer food for our families. What are your thoughts on this ban? Will it change how you shop? #BreakingNews #FDA #FoodSafety #RedNo3 #ArtificialDyes #HealthyLiving #CleanEating #HealthyKids #HolisticHealth #NaturalFoods #FoodTransparency #FoodNews #FoodRegulations #ToxicFreeLiving #HealthAdvocate #IntegrativeMedicine #HealthyLifestyle #FoodAdditives #FoodDyes #CancerPrevention #SaferFood #NaturalLiving #ProcessedFood #WellnessJourney #KidHealth #ParentingTips #HealthyChoices #NonToxicLiving #FoodForThought

Copy the links in the comments for the full breakdown and a link to join the LEAN program today! Letā€™s talk about food choices that work for YOU. I get strong reactions when I share food recommendations, especially when it comes to processed foods. But hereā€™s the truth: Not all processed food is unhealthy, and not all packaged foods are bad for you. In my LEAN program, I teach clients how to choose the right foods for their unique needs. If you join LEAN today, you'll get a personalized meal plan AND my Instagram recipe collection for FREE ($75 value)! Today, I'm breaking down the difference between ultra-processed vs. minimally processed foods, and why some packaged items (like those from Costco) are actually better for you than theyā€™re made out to be. While ultra-processed foods (chips, candy, fast food) should be limited, there are plenty of minimally processed options that fit into a balanced, healthy diet. I also dive into some misconceptions about food quality, such as the narrative that you must buy local, organic, and grass-fed to be ""healthy."" The reality is that not everyone has access to these options, nor the budget to make them their only food choice. The goal? To make better choices, wherever you are starting fromā€”and thatā€™s what Iā€™m here to help you with. Here are five tips to consider when choosing packaged food: 1. Avoid items with a long ingredient list of artificial additives, preservatives, or chemicals that you can't pronounce. 2. Watch the Serving Size. Some packages may appear small but contain multiple servings, which can skew the nutritional information and calorie count. 3. Opt for whole grains, seeds, and natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup, instead of refined grains, added sugars, or high-fructose corn syrup. 4. Focus on key nutrients like fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals. Be cautious of high amounts of saturated fat, sodium, or added sugars. 5. Look for certifications like ""Organic,"" ""Non-GMO,"" or ""Fair Trade"" that may indicate a higher quality product or more ethical sourcing practices. #Processedfood #dietitiantips #nutrition #dietitian #healthylifestyle #food #healthyeating #weightloss #wellness #nutritiontips #healthyfood
