Training your puppy to be well behaved, both with you and with new people, doesn’t have to take a long time, but it does require you to train incrementally Think about it like training for a marathon. If you had never ran a mile before and then tried to run a marathon, it would likely be really dang hard- but not because you’re not capable of doing it, just because you skipped to the hardest level before accomplishing the easiest The easiest level for your puppy is their ability to Lay by your feet, near you with a toy without biting or barking at you Listen to commands (the first time you ask) inside of your home, with no distractions Not jump on you when you walk through the door It is their ability to be “well behaved” with the person they’re with the most, in the environment they’re in the most Vs the hardest level is their ability to be “well behaved” with distractions When you have guests over When you take them on a walk When you take them to your family event or a dog friendly restaurant If your puppy is still biting you, doesn’t calm down with you, that just means that they don’t have that level 1 foundation. But when we teach your puppy to be well behaved with you, to calmly play with their own toys with you, to not jump or bite with you, you’re able to move onto their ability to be calm on leash, with guests, and in these other situations- the problem is that you’re still circling at level 1 It took us 2 weeks to go from her getting holes in her clothes, sc@rs on her hands, and being knee deep in puppy blues due to her puppy’s biting, to her sitting on the couch with her puppy next to her playing with her own toy, and being able to actually sit on the floor and play with her puppy with no biting And less than 2 months later, she’s being asked if her puppy is a service dog because of how “good” she is in public and having friends over with her puppy chilling with them with no jumping Mastering “level 1” doesn’t take a long time when you have me guiding you daily and training to implement daily that is specific to you and your puppy Grab the details for my 1:1 program in my b!o when you’re ready to train your adventure buddy🐾
