We’re looking for people who want to stay on the farm but are also interested in building a solid non-farm income. I know a lot of you are working part-time or even full-time jobs off the farm to make ends meet, and I see the effort you’re putting in. Your love for agriculture runs deep, but what if you didn’t have to leave the farm to bring in that extra income? What if you could develop a significant income on a part-time basis, working it around your farming schedule? Imagine being home when you need to plant or harvest, not stuck at a job in town for 40+ hours a week. What would that mean for your operation, your family, and your peace of mind? If that sounds like something you’d like to learn more about, reach out to us. We’d love to show you how farmers just like you are making this happen! #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm
Tried starter and didn’t see results? You’re not alone. Sometimes it doesn’t work because we use the wrong product, wrong rate, or wrong method. For example, 10-34-0 was made for broadcast, not row placement. Using something with high salt or a bad pH in the row can cut your stand. Sure, the crop might look better early on, but if the check strip has thousands more plants per acre, you can’t make up that yield difference. The solution? Use seed-safe products, keep plant population high, and give it that early boost. #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm

This secret could be draining your profits: overapplying phosphorus. Here’s the deal—once P1 levels hit 50 parts per million, you’re not helping your crops; you’re hurting them. High levels can create zinc deficiencies and other problems that force you to either lose yield and farm around the over application. I’ve seen soil tests with P1 levels anywhere from 60-84, where retailers still recommend adding 150 pounds of DAP under the guise of “maintenance.” But at these levels, overapplication does more harm than good. Stop throwing money away and start spending nutrient dollars smarter! #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm

Nitrogen is one of the easiest things to cut, and here’s why. At A Better Way to Farm, we help clients improve nitrogen efficiency, reducing use to as low as 0.3 lbs per bushel of corn. That could save you $86 per acre (at 200 bpa corn). It’s a win for not only your wallet but also the environment. Want to learn how? Join us at our 2-day Fundamentals of Agronomy program and start making your nitrogen program more efficient. #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm

Why does the weight of your micronutrients matter? Pounds per gallon can tell you if they’re truly chelated. Chelation is key—without it, most of your micros get tied up in the soil and never reach the plant. Cheap products often skimp on chelating agents, meaning only a small percentage is protected. Make sure your manganese, zinc, or copper is 100% chelated for maximum uptake and results. Don’t waste money on micros that won’t work. Did you know snow can be your garden’s best friend during winter? 🌿❄️ Here’s why: 1️⃣ Natural Insulation: Snow acts as a protective blanket, insulating plants from harsh winter temperatures and frost heaving. 2️⃣ Moisture Retention: As snow melts, it provides slow-release moisture, hydrating the soil and preventing winter drought. 3️⃣ Soil Protection: A snow cover prevents soil erosion by shielding it from strong winds and heavy rain. 4️⃣ Nutrient Boost: Melting snow can deliver trace minerals from the atmosphere, enriching your garden soil. 5️⃣ Pest Control: Cold temperatures under snow can help reduce overwintering pests, keeping your plants healthier. Embrace the snow as a natural garden protector! ❄️🌿 Winter gardening tip: Avoid heavy foot traffic on snow-covered lawns to prevent soil compaction! #SnowProtection #GardenTips #WinterGardening #HealthySoil #GardenBenefits #OrganicGardening #PlantCare #SnowInsulation #EcoGarden #GardeningHacks #ColdClimateGardening #SoilHealth #GardenLove

Why do we soil test? It’s all about knowing exactly what our crops need to hit the yield goals we’re pushing for. When we take a soil test, we use that information to apply only the nutrients our soil actually needs. That means smarter decisions, better efficiency, and healthier crops. But here’s the thing—it’s not just about soil. Manure testing is just as important. For example, I recently came across a sample of human waste being used as fertilizer, and it had aluminum and iron levels that were off the charts. That’s a big problem because those elements can tie up phosphorus, making it tough for plants to get the nutrients they need. This is why it’s so important to be aware of what’s in your soil and what you’re putting into it. Make the smart choices now to see better results later! @brianschlueter808 #farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm

Are you ready to grow bigger, stronger roots and boost your yields? At A Better Way to Farm, we believe that what’s below the ground creates what’s above. Deeper roots mean better access to water, more nutrients, and a healthier crop overall. It’s all about creating that big root mass in the first 24 to 30 inches of soil. Why? Because the more soil your roots touch, the more opportunities they have to bring in nutrients. Plus, roots and mycorrhizae fungi work together in a symbiotic relationship that keeps everything thriving. If you’re ready to talk about driving those roots deeper and seeing bigger results, type “more roots” in the comments and let’s get started! #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm

Replying to @Thomas Boillat Is chelation important for micronutrients? Let’s break it down. There’s debate on whether they should be chelated, but here’s what we’ve learned over 31 years. If they’re chelated, they need EDTA to keep them from tying up with phosphorus in the soil. Without that claw protecting the micronutrient, it gets locked up before the plant can use it. Even in foliar feeding, chelation matters to help nutrients absorb properly into the leaf and translocate through the plant. But beyond chelation, purity matters too. Some micros contain harmful heavy metals like cadmium or arsenic, which can disrupt DNA and plant growth. Clean, pure, chelated micros are key. #Farmtok #agronomy101 #agronomytok #abetterwaytofarm #agriculturetiktok #rowcropfarmer #soilhealth #farmfamily #familyfarm #iowafarmer #illinoisfarmer #missourifarmer #nebraskafarmer #kansasfarmer #wisconsinfarming #minnesotafarmer #ohiofarmer #indianafarmer #oklahomafarmer #texasfarm
