this chirashi tower was less than $30! a fun solo adventure day visiting Sushi Go 55, the family that started this is credited with bringing sushi to the USA. honestly the love can be felt in the food, quality, flavor and price point all aligned perfectly. 📍333 S Alameda St, Ste 317, Los Angeles, CA 90013 (2 hour free parking validation) thanks for joining me for this food adventure ✨🤍 #Vlog #sushi #chirashi #Foodie #foodadventure #dailylife #lunchbreak #whatieatinaday #fun #adventure #soloadventure #soloadventures
Honestly a neighbor that would bend me up like a pretzel would be cheaper than a beach vacation but I could really use the tan. #soloadventure #solotravel #HealingJourney #aruba #caribbean #escapingwinter #ValentinesDay #arkansasgirl #neighborhood

And now for some positive news. A few days ago, I was offered an opportunity to stay in a steep ravine cabin on mount Tamalpais. These reserve by lottery 7-8 months in advance so I knew I had to say yes to this adventure. It just so happened to work out with my new work schedule, and it felt like a miracle. Every video and photo ever posted about this place by my friend, Lori made it seem like the most magical place on earth and I was so excited to finally check it out! As soon as I started up mount tam I was in awe of its beauty. The ivy-wrapped trees waved at me and I felt their magic. The windy road was a tad scary but it soon revealed the most gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean and once again, I was in awe. I felt the magic again and couldn’t be more grateful for this experience. I didn’t even mind hauling all my gear to the furthest-from-the-parking-lot, but closest-to-the-ocean cabin. I had plenty of albuterol to pull it off. I was grinning from ear to ear, giddy with excitement the entire time. I got my cabin set up and got settled in just before the sun dropped to the horizon line. I wanted to be on the beach with my toes in the sand, but I knew I’d have to do some light rock climbing to make that happen. My body was aching from standing at work all day and then doing a reasonably long drive, but I decided to say yes to adventure. I took the trail straight out of my cabin door down to the shore, stopping to take photos along the way. I was absolutely delighted by everything I saw, it must have looked like my first time at the ocean. I scrambled over the first big clumps of rocks and figured I could just sit and enjoy from there. I really wanted to be on the sand but I was scared to get stuck, especially just before dark. I did have a headlamp in my pocket just in case. Then these two little girls, maybe 12 or 13 came along, leaping from rock pile to rock pile like parkour. Their youthful enthusiasm encouraged me to try again and I made it down no problem. I was so excited to put my feet on the sand and walk across the small, driftwood-covered beach. I was so grateful for those two little girls. I got to see a cute lil seal swimming in the waves. For the last couple years I have been honoring Deanna’s bday by visiting the beach. Since her birthday is next week, I wrote her a lil message in the sand. I know she was there because I didn’t die climbing back over the rocks and got of there before it was pitch black and before the tide came in. Thanks to Girl Scout camp, I had no problems getting a bustling fire going in the wood-burning stove. It was nice n cozy. I was soothed to sleep pretty early by the crashing waves, no “Alexa: play ocean sounds”needed. Not surprisingly, I woke up before the sun was up and got a morning fire going. My pour-over coffee was going well until the whole thing fell in and I ended up with cowboy coffee. Gritty, but still good! I got packed up, and cleaned the cabin, leaving it better than I found it- another thing I learned at Girl Scout camp. It was so hard to leave. I kept stopping to turn around and stare at the ocean again. Perfect little adventure, so grateful for it. ❤️ thank you @Lori Huneke, love you!! #steepravine #mttamalpais #cabinadventure #oceanfront #glamping #hiddengems #naturevibes #solotravel #soloadventure
