Recent events have led me to reflect deeply on the balance between faith and politics, particularly after hearing about the female bishop addressing President Trump during a sacred service. While her words were undoubtedly well-intentioned, they’ve sparked significant debate about whether political discourse belongs in religious spaces. Faith and politics often intersect, influencing one another in profound ways. However, I believe there’s a sacred purpose to religious services that should be protected. Moments of worship are meant to inspire unity, healing, and reflection—not division or political agendas. President Trump’s leadership and communication style have always sparked conversation, but when politics enters the realm of faith, it raises questions about whether we’re respecting the sanctity of these moments. Religious services hold a special place in our lives—a time to step away from the chaos of the world and find peace, not to be reminded of the battles being fought outside. This isn’t about silencing voices or discouraging dialogue. It’s about finding the right time and place for these conversations, so they uplift rather than divide us. Faith has the power to unite; we must honor that by keeping sacred spaces free of unnecessary distractions.
