WORRYING DOESN’T WORK. Worry is what I call a dark emotion. It has no redeeming value. It’s “mental littler”, a big sloppy mess that causes turmoil in our minds. Worried about your friends in LA dealing with the wildfires? Worried about medical test results coming next week? Worried about what the heck yer gonna do in your retirement years?
If left unchecked, these worries will suck the life out of you. They will deplete you of all your precious energy that could be spent: 💪 Taking good care of yourself. 💪 Taking action steps to help that person in need, who you're worrying about 💪 Staying in a positive mindset to set yourself up for retirement ideas.
WORRY HAS EVEN A DARKER SIDE: Unconsciously we think that by worrying we are somehow making the situation better. We actually think by worrying at 3AM we’re helping our friend, influencing the results of that medical test, our retirement fears will vanish.
WOW, that’s so twisted. Never believe this. It’s an illusion. Here are three easy hacks that can ease your worry: When worry sets in GET UP AND MOVE around the room for 30 seconds. It’s essential that you interrupt the thought.
Next CHOOSE TO STOP THAT THOUGHT. Chop! Chop! Chop! that worry in two and throw it in a dumpster.
Ask yourself “What one action step can I take today to take care of myself, help my friend in LA, or start to address my retirement fears?”
Do these three hacks daily to ease the burden of all that worrying.
