Transparency post! Survivors of molestation often carry unseen wounds. Ones that may take years to process. One of the most significant needs is validation. When I share my story, I’m not just recounting an event, I’m acknowledging my pain while seeing my worth. There is healing in your testimony. Without that healing I faced meaning feelings of self-doubt, shame, or isolation. Validation isn’t about fixing or questioning a victims experience—it’s about listening, believing, and letting them know their emotions and responses are valid. If a survivor trusts you enough to open up, remember: 1. Say, “I believe you.” 2. Avoid blaming or minimizing their experience. 3. Let them guide the conversation and pace. Healing takes time, and while professional support is vital, so is compassion from friends, family, and society. Let’s create a world where survivors feel seen, heard, and never alone.
