Want to be able to kick faster when kicking consecutively? The speed is in the details and technique! 1. Watch your foot placement after kicking. If you’re landing further away from your target, you will have a further distance to get back to your target. 2. Watch out for bouncing up and down between kicks. 3. Keep your balancing leg planted on the ground as much as possible to eliminate the bouncing off the ground in between. 3. Your head should be leveled as much as possible. 4. Pump your arms fast as possible without overly moving them. Let me know if this video is helpful and if you’d like to see more kicking tips! How to spin hook kick? This one gets peeps all the time as one of the most difficult taekwondo techniques to execute. But when you learn it right, it can be deadly! 💀 First problem is wanting to kick too soon! Be patient. It’s all about timing. Get that spin down first, spot your target, then you can throw that kick! I advise learning how to throw a basic hook kick before getting started. It’s very simple. Now when we spin and then kick we tend to over spin so we end up throwing a spin axe 🪓 kick. Don’t over spin either! It’s just a simple 180 turn, then hook kick. Don’t over complicate! ❤️🫶🏼🙃 Do you like the spin hook kick? Share with someone who might be having trouble with this technique! #taekwondo #taekwondogirl #tutorial #mma #martialarts
How it started vs how it’s going! In 2022, at 28 years old, after the Tokyo Olympic Games, I finally began to pursue my desire to learn more skill sets other than my expertise of Olympic taekwondo. I started learning parkour, acrobatics, film fighting, and different movement patterns I wasn’t use to or had ever done before. The current new skill sets you see here are from the past 3 years of becoming everything I feel called to become. My evolution as an athlete and person. I am overly grateful that God has allowed me to continue evolving as an athlete the last 3 years, despite having 6 knee surgeries and not having a meniscus in my left knee. You won’t find me running 5 miles, but you will find me pursuing my God given dream and becoming like my childhood hero, Jackie Chan. In 2023 I had a hard time hanging onto another Olympic pursuit or letting go and moving on to stunts and the film industry. To tell you the truth, I had a hard time letting go because all I knew was Olympic Taekwondo. I prayed and worked hard in developing new skill sets and also trained hard in my professional skill set as an Olympic taekwondo athlete. I wanted to make sure I was fully open to do what God had for me. In February 2024, God made it very clear to me as he shut one door and opened this new door in my life in the same week. I was finally able to let go of my past dreams and walk into the new promises God has for my life. My dreams are new and exciting to me. The best advice I can give for now, let go of what’s not for you. God will always walk you into the better blessing for your life. Everything has it’s season in order to shape you. Becoming an Olympian shaped me into a resilient strong woman of God. I would not changed my strength for anything because that is how God has shaped me for His purpose. Watch me grow into Gods calling for my life. 🕊️ #tkd #taekwondo #stuntwoman #stuntman #actor #taekwondogirl

#telegraphing 🚨 Taking your skills to the next level is all in the details! Detail is what separates the professionals from everyone else. Every small movement matters when it comes to striking faster. Less movement in between point a to b, the faster your technique will be. Here I demonstrate telegraphing before striking. Telegraphing can be done in several ways. Here are the 2 most common ways to telegraph a roundhouse kick in Taekwondo. It doesn’t matter how fast you may be, telegraphing will always slow you down. Tip: these telegraphing movements can be done as “checks” or “faints” to get your opponents off their rhythm. As long as these faints are done at the proper timing and with purpose they can be affective. Question: What if my distance is off and I have to take a step before kicking? I recommend sliding in as opposed to stepping in. A good fighter knows that if you step in that almost always means the back leg strike is coming. A slide in can mean anything is coming. #taekwondo #tkd #mma #martialarts #martialartist #taekwondogirl

Learn one of Taekwondo’s signature kicks, the double kick! 1. Don’t jump! Stay on the ground. This will help you eventually get into the triple kick. 2. Pivot your hips and feet. Don’t kick straight up ⬆️ 3. Once you throw your first roundhouse kick, the second is with a quick switch in the hips. 4. Don’t lean your weight back. 5. Don’t overly bend your knees when landing.
