I got a puppy from a breeder because I couldn't afford getting a dog from a shelter and the dog not working out for me. Yes, I know rescues can be service dogs but it takes a very special dog to even have the temperament to be a service dog. I got a dog from a breeder because I needed a second service dog since my first will be retiring in a couple years. It was very hard finding a Flat Coated Retriever breeder that would even give their puppies to a service dog home. I messaged a breeder who lives 10 minutes away from me and she was extremely rude. Asking for my medical information, MY FAMILIES MEDICAL INFORMATION. I get it for me but the rest of my family? Red flag. Turns out, several Flat Coat breeders stay away from this person because she makes people feel bad for no reason at all and gets in their heads at dog shows just so they fail and she wins. (Ifykyk) While it was very hard to find a breeder, I ended up finding one in Colorado who was willing to give one of her puppies to a service dog home. And it has always been my dream to show dogs and when she mentioned she wanted to give this puppy to a showing home, I immediately took her up on the offer. I went to Colorado which was a 4 day trip, 2 days to get there, 2 days to get back (I'm from Southern California) I LOVED KÖNIGS BREEDER! she was absolutely amazing and has been extremely helpful. She loves watching König and I become very successful with his training. Before you hate on me and send me nasty messages saying I'm a dog killer because I bought a dog from a breeder.... Please do me a favor and find me a Purebred Flat Coated Retriever, with service dog temperament, is showing quality, and in the shelter... I will wait 🙌 Flat Coats are rare dog breeds, so it would be very hard to even find a purebred Flat Coat in the shelter. While I wish I could rescue every dog in the shelter - there just isn't a chance for me too. We can't rescue every dog, just like how we can't adopt every child that's up for adoption. I will forever be someone who will always love my purebreds but that's just what I prefer honestly. Wow.. you were full of life lessons, Getting out of a manipulative relationship, getting into therapy, losing my mom to cancer, turned 18, getting König The Flat Coated Retriever, getting my driver's license and buying my first car/dream car, a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, losing friends, setting boundaries, finally being able to be independent on my own, going to my first cosplay convention, seeing my favorite artist, NF, in concert. Becoming more independent, going out without my service dogs with me, learning how to show dogs, focusing more onto my photography, cutting contact with some family members and even so called friends, eventually moving on from all the negativity. Meeting new amazing people/friends, being in my first healthy relationship, becoming closer with siblings, especially my sister♥️, finding new hobbies, improving my photography and video editing, finally coming out of my shell more. Becoming more comfortable driving on my own, taking time to myself, healing, and finally... Here I am.. 🫶 I've been through hell this year and it feels like I didn't get anything done... It feels like all I have been doing is surviving. And I'm happy to say that I did survive. The worst thing that happened this year was losing my mom. But I kept going after my dreams because that's what she would have wanted. I love you Mom, everything I do is for you♥️ I'm starting off the year with two of my dream breeds but something is missing, which is you. 💔 To those I met this year, I love you♥️ thank you for coming into my life♥️♥️ and to those who have been there for years, thank you for never giving up on me.
