I’ve been sitting on this draft and sound for a dang year or more— but if we are gonna get banned I want this one up. Some of the people I have loved the most in my life have let me down in unimaginable ways. I learned blood is NOT thicker than water a lot of the time. I am a forgiving person by nature but there are a few things unforgivable and they know what they did and who they are. My job has always been and will continue to be protecting the ones entrusted in my care and that included my children. I hope living the rest of your life without having US in it was worth saving face for and losing BEST things that ever came from you. Living with good intention matters. I have learned you can’t always count on people to do the things you’d do for them. Not everyone will match your energy. Not everyone holds themselves to their highest level of integrity. This can be devastating—Hold true to your code of honor and don’t let others change your good heart. Don’t become hard when others let you down, use it as a stepping stone to lead by example and prove there are still good people in this world.
