And here’s to teaching valuable lessons - even from the comfort of your @CITY Furniture couch. You don’t need to entertain your child every second of the day. When you prioritize stepping back & giving them space. You get fewer meltdowns, more confidence, patience, & independence - not to mention less pressure on you to do it all. Theirs a difference between ignoring your child & modeling balance. -Offer open-ended toys & let them lead. -Stay nearby, periodically check in with a smile or question, & stay available but not overbearing. -And if they approach you during this time, acknowledge them before encouraging them to continue their activity. For example, “It looks like you’re having fun (doing X). Keep going while I finish this.” -& when they see you pursuing your own interests, they learn the value of individuality, while reassuring them you’re always there when they need you. #cityfurniture #parentinghacks #toddlertips #gentleparenting #consciousparenting #playroom #toddlerparenting Xo, Dr. C
Oh, the joys of a mobile baby! When your little one starts standing in their crib, it’s often because they’re exploring their new skills and may not know how to get back down. First, make sure their sleep environment is safe and simple—crib, firm mattress, white noise, and footed pajamas. During the day, practice helping them learn to sit back down. Gently guide them from standing to sitting so they become familiar with the motion. At night, if they stand and cry, give them a few minutes to see if they can settle themselves. If not, you can go in, gently lay them back down without engaging too much, and leave the room. Stay consistent, and remember: they are strong, adaptable, and capable of learning this new skill. You're doing an amazing job guiding them through these milestones! #momsoncall #parenting #toddlertok #toddlerparents #toddlerparenting #toddlersoftiktok #toddlermom
