Die cut leftovers• Trash🗑 or Treasure💎 from Gelli Arts® Artist @birgit_koopsen 👩🏻🎨 As a printmaker you should have a good look at every piece of trash you are about to throw away. It might just be a gel printing treasure worth holding on to! Have you ever taken a second look at the left overs after die cutting or do you just throw them away? When they look like this I definitely don’t throw them out because they make awesome masks/stencils for gel printing. 🎨Details: * I used acrylic paint. * It is important to use a thin layer of paint to allow the die cut paper to lift up all of the paint from the plate * I used an acrylic block to gently press down the paper without touching the paint in the open areas * Then I used crumpled baking paper to create texture in the open areas * After removing the die cut paper I let the first layer dry before adding the pick up layer * The large brayer is a lino roller and the width makes it very easy to blend the colors. * I let the paper (360gr/165lbs smooth paper for acrylic) on the plate until everything was dry.
