#triplenegativebc is a supportive community for individuals diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, sharing experiences, coping strategies, awareness, advocacy, hope, resilience, personal stories, resources, and fostering connections among patients and survivors.
It’s been a year for sure. Completed phase 2 of my cancer journey and back to living life and attending my follow up appointments. Countless, visits, scans, surgeries, infusions and worry but I have conquered it all with God beside me. It takes a village but you must have the faith. I was diagnosed at 38, found my own lump and advocated for myself. I had the best team and they took things serious and got things going so quickly. It started with an MRI, ultrasound and then ended with a biopsy. From there I was diagnosed and chemo quickly started. I completed that and images showed cancer was more than likely all gone but only surgery could confirm. I chose to do a Double Mastectomy with breast reconstruction. I had expanders placed and then had exchange surgery for the reconstruction phase. I am cancer free and just thankful for each day. I look forward to going to my follow up visits so they can tell me How good I’m doing but I will say I still get pretty anxious about scans. I have a chest xray coming up in the next couple of months and I know it’s gonna be all good but I still have scan anxiety. Who wouldn’t? I urge you to be doing breast exams and get checked out if anything isn’t normal. Time is critical! I’m grateful I found mine.
