l've had eczema since the day I was born, and started using corticosteroids (yes hydrocortisone is one) before I was even 1. We used them sparingly and tried to be careful. When I stopped using them as an adult things got so much worse than they ever were with eczema. Not a single doctor ever told me that this was a possibility. If l'd have known, I would have chosen differently. Topical steroid withdrawal has impacted every aspect of my life and brought me lower than low. Informed consent is VITAL. There are babies suffering through this agony because there was no informed consent. It's time to do better!
