The annual boot hockey tournament to fund epilepsy research is back after being cancelled in 2024 due to warm weather and unsafe ice conditions. The event is one of the most important student-life events on campus, but its future could be in peril. Climate research carried out at the university revealed year-over-year shrinking ice seasons on Lake Mendota, putting ice events at risk of cancellation.
