According to my mother, he always regretted telling HIS story to Dahl and claimed that Dahl hardly changed his original story at all.” Dahl went on to publish such acclaimed works as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, The BFG, and Matilda. He was a good author in his own right, but the first story he “wrote” wasn’t really his 😬 As a side note, Mr. Toad did end up in a package film, but not the Three Fabulous Characters.
