I am trying new curls and new lengths for my next install! I have not used this hair before so I will give these extensions a test drive before I offer them as a part of my shop. I thought the blonde would be a fun change up with spring break right around the corner. I can’t tell you how excited I am for this install. In my mind—it is going to be fabulous! It’ll be interesting to see how it turns out. My hair is so long that, with shorter dreadlocks, I am going to have to do a blanket stitch braid. The shortest ones are single ended and I will install them around the longer double ended ones right at my root and in the top. I am counting on them to give me that volume boost I am craving! I don’t control the opinions of others (and I don’t want to). The only thing I control is my response to the disapproval. If someone doesn’t approve of my hair—that’s okay. I respond in one of two ways: Approach A—salvage my feelings and try to just move on. I mean really…I could invest a lot of head space worrying about it but it won’t do me any good. So it is better for me to just try to erase it from my memory and move on. And that’s the easy one. Get over it and move on. And then there is Approach B: try to find out WHY they don’t approve. This one is much harder. It involves dialogue which can be difficult because it typically involves differing OPINIONS. You have to be willing to listen and think about it from another person’s POV. Then…hopefully…they will extend the same respect in return. We all want to be respected. Of course—I want you to love my hair, too, but if you don’t…you don’t! And that’s okay! My client loves seafoam because it is the color of her scrubs. Umm. Ahem. Love at first DM=”sight?” Anyone who wears scrubs is top notch, IMHO. These are our front lines. Our care givers. These are the people caring for our loved ones as well as the ones who are forgotten. The people doing the things we can’t (or won’t). I really wanted to bring it home for this babe. I hope hope hope with all of my hopes that she loves this. I sure do! It is gorgeous. Voluminous, feminine, angelic…just like my client! She also ordered 5 of my hair wraps. Have you BBChe led those out yet? They’re beautiful. PS this was the biggest order I’ve ever received in one fell swoop. I am packaging it all up tomorrow and truly want it to be perfect for her.
