Do your wedges always seem to come up short?🤔 Or maybe you swing really hard at a wedge for it to go far shorter than you intend? When you hit a wedge, it should be launched, ideally, between 24-30 degrees. Above 30 and the wedge is likely going to ride up the face and won't go nearly the distance you want. So how can you lower the launch of a wedge. First, check your club head at setup. Because a wedge will appear more hooded or closed the further back in your stance, you might subconsciously have it set up open, which adds loft. Then here are other tips at setup: 1) Have the ball off of your trail ear. This allows for a more ideal lower launch. 2) Lean the hand slightly more forward. 3) Hold off your finish. When you hold off your finish you maintain wrist angles more leading to more angle of attack and compression. If you find your wedges floating and never going the distance you want, try these out and remember the importance of a launch between 24-30 degrees!
