@Nelson Holland + I recently were at a creator skiing retreat โ›ท๏ธ we met for the first time last May with @Strava We had to stick together because we both started skiing last year + still finding our way on the mountain (mostly me)๐Ÿ”๏ธ We faced some fears- making it down a blue run again, after having to go down the same one the previous day in a blizzard ๐Ÿฅถ very scary as a beginner skier, but we did it ๐Ÿ™Œ I think we got a little better that day too ๐Ÿ˜„ What are your goals for skiing this year? Mine are to take 2 more lessons and get in at least 10 days skiing See ya out there! ๐ŸŽฟ #colorado #explorecolorado #skiing #winterincolorado #breckenridge #breckenridgecolorado

Tips โคต๏ธ ๐Ÿ“Œ Save this post: 1. Dress in layers. Sweating when itโ€™s cold out can be dangerous and layering allows for better temperature regulation. 2. Wear proper footwear for the conditions. Keeping your feet warm and dry is very important. Insulated waterproof boots can make a big difference on a winter hike. 3. Bring micro spikes to help with traction. These are easy to keep in your pack and are useful in icy conditions. If there is deep powder snowshoes are a great tool to have as well. 4. Bring sunglasses or ski goggles to help with the sun reflecting off the snow and the wind blowing snow at your face. 5. Stay hydrated. It can be easy to forget to drink water in the cold so you need to make it a priority. Make sure your water doesnโ€™t freeze. 6. Bring extra socks and gloves incase your first sets get wet. These are easy to keep in you pack and can be a real life saver. 7. Be aware of avalanche risk and stay out of high risk areas. โœ… Follow us @the.guidebook for trail recommendations, campsite information, and hiking, camping, & travel tips. ๐Ÿ“Œ Tips for Responsible Recreation: ๐ŸŒŽ Leave it better than you found it. ๐Ÿฅพ Stay on the trail. โ›บ๏ธ Camp on durable surfaces. ๐Ÿป Respect wildlife & keep your distance. ๐Ÿšฎ Pack out your trash & any trash you find. ๐Ÿ˜€ Be respectful to others. โš ๏ธ Follow local rules & regulations. ๐ŸŽ’ Bring the proper gear & stay safe. โ›ˆ๏ธ Always check current local weather. #winterincolorado #winterhikes #winterhiking #Denver #Denverhiking #Denverhikes #dayhikesneardenver #visitdenver #visitcolorado #hikecolorado #explorecolorado #traveltips #travelguide
