Replying to @Sarah B 🍋🍪 FRESH LEMON COOKIE RECIPE: ••• Ingredients: 3/4 cup salted butter 1 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla 2 egg yolks 1 juicy lemon 2 tbsp sour cream 1/2 tsp baking powder 3 cups AP flour (may need more or less depending on how juicy your lemon is!) Optional: 1-3 drops yellow food color ••• INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cream together the butter and sugar with the paddle attachment until just barely combined. Don't over mix or your cookies may spread during baking. 2. Add in the egg yolks, vanilla, *fresh* lemon juice, lemon zest, and sour cream. Mix again until combined. If you choose to add yellow food coloring, this is the step where that would be done. 3. Add in the baking powder and flour and mix on medium-low until combined. You'll know there's enough flour when the dough pulls away from the bowl. 4. Roll the dough into sheets. I prefer to roll mine between wax paper sheets until they're about 3/8" thick. (1/4” in the video) 5. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (176 Celsius) and place your cookie sheets in the freezer to chill while the oven heats up (about I0 minutes). Chilling the dough prevents spreading and gives sharp edges but you can skip the freezer step if that's not concern to you. 6. When the dough is chilled, cut your shapes out and bake for 10-12 minutes. Let them cool completely on the baking sheet, then decorate! •••
