💖 Description: video interview with access artist Rae Lanzerotti, standing in front of a half-dozen Heart sculptures on display at the Ferry Building. Rae smiles at the viewer, as they stand next to their mini-heart, “Touching Love.” 🫶🏽 While covering our KH Fam, Dev Heyrana, we had the privilege of meeting access artist Rae Lanzerotti (IG@raerotti) and wow, were we touched by their story, both figuratively and literally. 💫 Rae (they/she) is a genderqueer, low vision/disabled artist reimagining what it means to experience art. After sudden vision loss in 2020, they innovated new ways to create, ensuring art is not just seen but felt and heard. Their #HeartsinSF sculpture, “Touching Love,” embodies this mission, an invitation to connect through touch, sound, and sensation. A born-and-raised San Franciscan, Rae’s heart has always been here, but now it takes shape in a whole new way. Through their leadership in Graphic Medicine International, they’re pioneering accessible comics and redefining storytelling across multiple mediums. Art that welcomes everyone? That’s a vision we can all embrace. 💕
