‼️My mom was right……👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 You see growing up I never felt like I fit in. I wasn’t pretty. I didn’t have the best body-in fact I was very slow to mature. I was terribly short and I just never knew what was “cool.” We didn’t have money for me to wear the ”in” clothes. I wasn’t invited to parties and I was hardly ever asked to a school dance. I often times felt alone and spent a lot of my time alone. I never understood why at the time…but growing up my mom always told me this quote and it stuck with me: “You don’t need to find yourself. You aren’t lost. You need to remember yourself, remember who you were before the world got to you. That’s where your power lies. You see the prettiest people aren’t the happiest. Looks don’t define you. What you have doesn’t define you, but the way you leave people is how they will always remember you. Growing up is hard and so is getting older. The world tells us our bodies and our face define us, but no one actually remembers those things. We remember the time someone stopped to listen when we had a problem. We remember how people made us feel when we were alone and someone stopped to see if we wanted to hang out. We remember the compliment the lady on the street walked by and offered. Looks change, the way you leave people stays with them. ⭐️Want more? My new book is launching February 18th!
