You guys know what to do! Follow me on IG and DM me “CAREER MOAT” and I’ll send you a link to grab the framework! Think about two people starting their careers today: Person A decides to specialize in sustainable AI development. Person B pursues print magazine publishing. Neither can predict the future, but one is positioning themselves where value is growing, while the other is fighting against industry headwinds. This is why the concept of a career moat is so powerful. It's not just about being good at what you do - it's about building competitive advantages that compound over time. The strongest ones typically come from: 1. Technical depth in emerging fields (like that AI developer) 2. Deep domain expertise (like someone in finance who understands healthcare regulations inside and out) 3. Unique skill combinations (like a UX designer who can code) 4. Relationship capital in growing industries (like having a strong network in climate tech) Any of these can be a moat, but the key is choosing areas where the value of your expertise or relationships grows stronger over time, not weaker. The framework helps you identify these opportunities in your industry. It's not about predicting the future - it's about positioning yourself where time works for you, not against you. #careeradvice #careergrowth #careerpath #careerstrategy #economicmoat #careermoat
Next time you’re facing career decision paralysis, use this framework to find clarity (follow me on IG and DM me ODYSSEY PLAN and I’ll send you a free copy!) It took me YEARS of self reflecting to learn that work will always feel like work, and real career satisfaction doesn’t come from finding the one perfect job - it comes from getting to know yourself, staying curious, and letting your career evolve as you do. That's the genius of Odyssey Planning - it's not just about mapping different futures, it's about: - Discovering what you might be subconsciously ruling out (those "unrealistic" dreams often hold important clues) - Testing assumptions about what success "should" look like - Finding themes across different paths that reveal what actually matters to you - Building the confidence to make bold moves, knowing you always have options It may sound like a simple exercise, but there’s SO much power in visualizing different paths for yourself (I should know - I built out my own Odyssey plans, and included mine as an example!) It’s an amazing confidence builder to realize that there are multiple ways you can build a happy career. Tomorrow we’re covering one of my favorite frameworks of the series - an EXTREMELY foundational approach to clarifying your unique personal brand. Follow so you don’t miss it! #careerplan #careerplanning #odysseyplanning #designingyourlife #careerstrategy #2025goals #goalsetting #CapCut
Is there really a workplace without politics? Let me be clear - claiming your organization has no politics is naive. But here's what matters: politics doesn't mean powerless. Even the quietest voices carry weight when they understand the landscape and speak their truth. Watch my latest YT video where I share how to navigate office politics while standing in your power.
