If you’re going to comment on my video, I encourage you to watch the whole thing and read the caption… because it’s becoming very clear that many of you are not. I also encourage you to watch my second video about the systemic barriers in healthcare for many minority and marginalized populations and how last resorts are often never used/what you’re commenting may be a very privileged take. #centralvenouscatheter #qualityoflife #inappropriatesinustachycardia #dysautonomiaawareness #equitablehealthcare #heartcondition #dysautonomia #ehlersdanlossyndrome #gastroparesis
⚠️DISCLAIMER⚠️: This is my own personal opinion but I feel like if a dysautonomia patient has tried many other treatment options and still has a very low quality of life, IV fluids (and eventually a central line) is very reasonable to be offered as an option at that point. HOWEVER, it is important that patients are fully informed of all of the risks of having a central line and that a cost benefit analysis is done in a COLLABORATIVE manner with the patient and their physician in their own unique scenario. (While I used #dysautonomia as an example, this also applies to any illness.) #qualityoflifematters #patientadvocate #individualizedmedicine #informedcare #tiktok #ivfluids #centralvenouscatheter #ehlersdanlossyndrome #gastroparesis
Replying to @jade ;) (Taylor's Version) As someone who really values patients’ access to care and autonomy, I truly personally believe that last resorts are unfortunately rarely used when actually indicated/when they actually should be. This /medical gaslighting and negligence is more likely to happen in BIPOC, women, people with co-existing mental illness, and more. This is why I am so passionate about this topic and similar patient advocacy-related topics! #disabilityadvocate #accesstocare #womenshealthcare #centralvenouscatheter #patientadvocate #informedcare #qualityoflifematters #ivfluids #dysautonomia #dysautonomiaawareness
