Patients are not the only people being hurt by health insurance companies. It's a lot of time and effort on our part to do prior auths and fight them for your money. They have *7 years* to audit us and clawback money they've already paid for a service. And we have no chance if they do that. And oftentimes, they just randomly determine it wasn't medically necessary out of no where. But I have a 90 to 180 day period to identify and fight underpayments or they will just keep them. These are inequities that are legally built into the system to give the insurance companies power over healthcare providers. Tag BCBS. We need to hold them accountable.
