I have to say, I’m SO PROUD of myself for making this content creator thing work out- I fully bet on myself in 2024 and you bet I’m going to double down in 2025! What are y’all’s goals in 2025? Have you always wanted to be a content creator? There has never been a better time to start (other than yesterday…) than NOW! I didn’t fully believe in myself, but I did the dang thing anyways. Why? Preventing “bad” behaviors from happening in the first place is the EASIEST way to avoid common new dog struggles like potty training, play biting, running away/not coming when called, destructive chewing, and so many more. If you have a new dog, understand that you will save yourself SO MUCH TIME and effort by being proactive and making it unlikely that your dog will have an opportunity to do the “bad” things. This means doing things like coming prepared with a couple of toys made of different textures, before you approach your puppy who you know is going through a teething and puppy biting phase. Or, keeping your dog attached to you in the house while you’re potty training so that you are much more likely to notice their early signs of restlessness, before they have an accident inside. Now, if you’ve adopted a dog who already has some undesirable habits, or if your own dog has somehow developed them despite your best efforts… don’t despair! I’ll show you how to teach your dog to behave in a way that makes both of you happy - and it will probably be much easier than you think! What’s one challenging behavior from your dog that you’ve struggled to change? #puppytraining #pottytraining #dogtraining101 #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #puppybiting #dogtrainer #leashtraining #dogtrainingadvice #DogTraining #dogtok #dogsoftiktok #dogtrainerlife #

If redirecting your puppy’s biting isn’t working, it’s not always about the toys or training—it could be about T-I-R-E-D-N-E-S-S. Puppies bite more when they’re overstimulated or overtired. Put them up for a nap and watch the chaos melt away! 😴✨ A rested puppy = a better behaved puppy. 💡 #doberman #dobermanpinscher #dobermandynamics #DogTraining #dogtrainer #NOLADogTrainer #akcobedience #akc #americankennelclub #dpca #Puppies #Dogs #dobie #neworleans #swampdobe #labradorretriever #labs #dogsports #cockerspaniel #Spaniels #puppytraining #PuppyTips #DogTraining101 #OvertiredPuppy #RedirectingBiting #PuppyLife #DogTrainer #BalancedTraining #HappyPuppy #DogTrainingHacks
This is the instant that Wallace the Shepherd/Malinois mix really started understanding a new word for the very first time! Moments like these might seem small… and they can be easy to miss, especially if you’re new to training dogs. But for Wallace, this is profound. He’s starting to really understand how to learn from and communicate with his trainer. The better you get at noticing the subtle cues and body language your dog displays during training, the faster you’re going to see results 🙌 This is Wallace’s “That means something!” face 😇 Some other signs to watch out for are: scratching or sniffing (which can indicate uncertainty or mild frustration), relaxed body posture and loose tail wags (which often mean a dog is more comfortable), which direction their ears are pointing (even if your dog has floppy ears, this can still tell you a lot!)… These are just a few common signals dogs sometimes give while training. Can you think of any more? Keep an eye out for signals your own dog gives, and pay attention to the context to start learning what it means to them! Getting to know your dog in this way will make everything easier and more enjoyable for both of you ❤️🐾 #DogTraining #dogtrainingtips #dogtraining101 #puppytraining #dogtrainer #malinois #germanshepherd #newdog #positivereinforcement #forcefree #dogtrainingadvice #puppytrainingtips #zakgeorge #dogtrainingrevolution #breakthrough #learning #animalbehavior #k9 #dogtok #dogsoftiktok
Does your dog love ANYTHING this much?! 😅 George the pit bull might be the most ball-obsessed dog I have ever worked with. He is certainly in the running! If George detects a ball, even if it’s been sitting still for hours, even if I have freshly cooked chicken right in front of his face, even if I have another ball or anything else he loves to reward him with… George REALLY struggled to leave balls alone. And for a little while, I struggled to figure out how to break through to him. But after a few days of getting to know George plus a lot of brainstorming and experimentation… an unexpected solution revealed itself! In George’s case, there is only one thing that he gets as excited for as every single ball on Earth. It’s not a juicy steak… It’s not a “better” ball… It’s not even what’s inside the bowl you see me using here. George has such a strong positive association with THE BOWL ITSELF - you can imagine how exciting his food bowl was every day while he was living in the animal shelter for months and months. Once I made this connection and started using his actual food bowl while I rewarded him during his more challenging training sessions… everything started to change! Remember, we don’t decide what’s reinforcing to our dogs. I would never have guessed that George would prefer KIBBLE from a bowl over real meat or other versions of his favorite toys. But paying attention to what ACTUALLY motivates George is what helped us break through and finally start making progress on his EXTREME love of balls 🐶❤️⚾️🎾 #DogTraining #puppytraining #dogtrainer #dogtok #dogsoftiktok #dogtrainerlife #pitbull #shelterdog #rescuedog #fosterdog #dogtraining101 #dogtrainingtips #dogtrainingadvice #leashtraining #dogtrainingrevolution

Thinking about getting a Rottweiler? 🐶 They’re loyal and powerful, but here are 3 reasons you might want to think twice: 1️⃣ Not great for first-time dog owners—they need firm, consistent training. 2️⃣ High-energy working dogs that need daily stimulation to stay happy. 3️⃣ Without proper socialization, they can develop behavioral challenges. Rottweilers are incredible, but only for the right owner! 🐾 Follow for more dog training tips and breed advice! 👏🏾 #DogTrainingTips #RottweilerLife #DogBehavior #WorkingDogs #DogBreedTips #DogTrainer #DogAdvice #PetTraining #RottweilerOwner #DogTraining101 #ReactiveDogs #DogLovers
“Be overwhelmingly consistent!” Easy enough, right? 🙃 All good teachers understand how essential this is. And dogs are very good at exploiting a lack of consistency. They will easily decipher how willing you are to stick to your game plan. This comes as no surprise - I mean, we are dealing with a very smart species here! 🐕 But there are times to unwind and do their own thing too. So how do you accomplish that while still being consistent in your training? You’ll need to feel this out with your individual dog, but it’s easy once you get to know each other a little. One classic example is walking on a loose leash. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, leash pulling can be absolutely maddening. In fact, this is one of the hardest things for many people to teach their dogs. So, in the spirit of being “consistent,” you might be tempted to absolutely never advance forward if there is tension on your dog’s leash. But in most cases, your consistency efforts would be much more effective during set-up training sessions in places where your dog is more likely to succeed. If the sidewalk is too challenging, try your driveway, or even your living room. And when you take your dog into those more challenging environments, give them the freedom to explore instead of holding them to training standards they aren’t prepared for yet. All dog trainers know that consistency is important. But you have to balance “consistency” with your dog’s current skill level, and set your expectations accordingly. That’s going to help you get out of your own way, and you and your dog will make progress much faster (and have more fun, too!) #DogTraining #dogtraining101 #dogtrainingtips #puppytraining #dogtrainer #malinois #germanshepherd #k9 #obedience #leashtraining #dogtrainingadvice #puppytrainingtips #leashpulling #dogtok #dogsoftiktok #dogtrainerlife #forcefree #forcefreedogtraining #positivereinforcement #dogtrainingrevolution #zakgeorge

How often do you say “NO” to your dog? What’s your ratio of “no” compared to “yes” when you’re training? There’s nothing inherently wrong with the word “no”. But, you want your dog to feel liberated to think and experiment while you’re training them. If you focus too much on telling your dog what they’re doing wrong instead of what they’re doing right, your dog could be discouraged from brainstorming and trying new things. So, instead of relying on “no,” focus on guiding your dog toward the behaviors you want. They’ll learn more effectively, and feel more encouraged to engage with you! #DogTraining #malinois #germanshepherd #dogtrainingtips #dogtraining101 #puppytraining #dogtrainer #positivereinforcement #forcefree #zakgeorge #dogtrainingrevolution
What’s one thing I try to do before EVERY training session with a dog? 🤔 Here’s your answer! #DogTraining #dogtrainer #dogtok #dogsoftiktok #dogtrainerlife #puppytraining #dogtraining101 #dogtrainingrevolution
Do you wish your dog would leave things alone when you ask them to? I mean things like squirrels, other dogs, your dinner, every single thing on the ground when you’re taking a walk… The FIRST step to teaching your dog a REALLY reliable “leave it” is to catch your dog in the act - of actually leaving something alone! When we posted this new YouTube video yesterday, I noticed that a few people were surprised by how small and simple this first “leave it” moment is with Wallace. So much of traditional dog training relies on waiting until dogs mess up, and then correcting them. But after decades of learning about how dogs learn from us - we know there is a better way! Find a way to show your dog what’s RIGHT (even if it’s just for a half second at first). Breaking your training down into the smallest, simplest components possible is going to make ALL of your training much faster and easier. #DogTraining #dogtrainer #dogtok #dogsoftiktok #puppytraining #dogtraining101 #dogtrainingrevolution

Are you working on stopping your dog’s LEASH PULLING? 🙀 Watch for these “magic moments” with your own dog, and you’ll start to see success much faster! The early stages of leash training can feel pretty overwhelming. It can be hard to find ANY “good moments” to reward when you feel like your dog is constantly pulling and lunging in every direction… One of my favorite exercises to do with dogs who are in the early phase of learning to walk nicely on leash, is getting them out on an extra long lead (this one is 30 feet long), because that can really increase your chances of finding lots of things to reward your dog for! Watch for moments when they briefly check in with you, glance your way, actually come to you, have slack in their leash, or see something tempting without immediately lunging for it. The more instances of “good” behavior that you can find to reward, the faster those “bad” behaviors will get replaced by things you actually want your dog to do! And, you can accomplish this quickly without needing to use a single “correction” or punishment with your dog. Training this way isn’t just more fun for you and your dog - it’s actually more effective, too! Follow to learn all about training your dog without needing outdated or counterproductive methods like punishment and coercion 🙌 You’ve got this! #DogTraining #leashtraining #dogtrainingtips #dogtraining101 #puppytraining #dogtrainer #positivereinforcement #forcefree #zakgeorge #dogtrainingrevolution
