WHAT YOU NEED: dressing: 1 tbsp capers 3/4 cup mayo 2 cloves freshly grated garlic Lemon juice to taste (I used 1 whole small lemon) 1 tbsp Dijon mustard  1 tbsp soy sauce  1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese Salt and black pepper to taste  other ingredients: 1/2 lb pasta of choice  3-4 handfuls of washed & chopped romaine 3/4 cup large breadcrumbs (used homemade sourdough here!) Freshly grated parmesan cheese Black pepper WHAT TO DO: 1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to packing instructions. Rinse the pasta in cold water and let cool. 2. Make the dressing by combining all the ingredients. Don't forget to grind up the capers first! You could make in a bowl or food processor. Use water to thin it out to desired consistency. There will be extra, save for drizzling on top or bringing the pasta salad back to life after refrigerating. 3. Combine desired amount of dressing with the pasta, lettuce, breadcrumbs and more parm & black pepper. WHAT YOU NEED: 3 tbsp evoo 4 large garlic cloves 1 tbsp or red pepper flakes to taste depending on your heat tolerance about 2 cups frozen broccoli (fresh is an option but will require longer cooking time to get it softer and mashable) 1/2 lb (about 1/2 standard box) farfalle pasta 1-2 tbsp grass fed butter 1/2 cup freshly grated pecorino romano cheese more cheese + black pepper for topping  WHAT TO DO: 1. bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the broccoli until tender enough to smash with a fork. 2. sautee the garlic and red pepper flakes in the evoo on low heat in a large skillet. 3. pull the broccoli out of the boiling water and add the farfalle directly into the same water and cook until done. 4. mash the broccoli with a food masher, or the bottom of a cup. it should turn into a sauce like texture but still have some rough chunks throughout. half sauce, half broccoli! 5. "FRENCH ONION SOUP" flavored pastina!! A little more of a time consuming version of pastina for sure  but since when have caramelized onions ever NOT been worth it?! There are soooo many flavors packed in, this one is a must for soup and pasta lovers. WHAT YOU NEED: 3 tbsp butter or evoo 1 large white onion 16 oz beef bone broth + more for deglazing the onions 1 sprig of fresh thyme 1 large garlic clove salt & pepper to taste 3/4 cup pastina 2 tbsp butter 1/2 cup freshly shredded Gruyère + more for topping WHAT TO DO: 1. Slice and cook the onions in the butter or evoo until caramelized to your liking. Season with thyme, garlic, s&p. 2. Blend the onions with half the bone broth until smooth. Pour that into the remaining broth, and then cook the pastina in it on the stove until the pastina has soaked up 90% of the liquid. 3. Add the butter and Gruyère into the pastina and mix until fully combined. 4. PSA: we don't want flowers for valentine's day we want a cute tiny pasta shape + heaps of cheese. 💁‍♀️🧀  WHAT YOU NEED: 1 tsp crushed black peppercorns 3 tbsp butter 1.5 cups small shaped pasta (TJ's farfalline, orzo, ditalini, pastina etc!) 2 3/4 cups water pinch of salt (the cheese adds flavor/sodium) 1.5 cups (has to be) freshly grated pecorino romano  WHAT TO DO: 1. toast the peppercorns for a few minutes until fragrant. add the butter and pasta and stir until the pasta soaks up the butter. 2. add the water and pinch of salt, cook until the pasta is a little under al dente and the liquid is about 80% absorbed. (you can add in more water while it's cooking if yoh need! some stoves will cook it faster - and it will evaporate faster than my stove and settings.) 3. mix the freshly grated cheese into the pasta and remaining liquid in the pan and stir quickly. Aka ~GOLDEN PASTINA~ made with saffron! New year, new things to try in the kitchen! If you've never cooked pasta with saffron in the sauce, i begggg you!!! Saffron is SO good in pasta sauces and perfectly compliments the flavors of butter, garlic and parmesan!! WHAT YOU NEED: 2-3 tbsp salted butter 1 tsp ground saffron threads 1 cup pastina 16 oz chicken or veg broth 1/3 cup parmesan cheese 1 splash (1/4 ish cup) heavy cream WHAT TO DO: 1. Melt the butter and add the saffron and pastina to it. Stir and cook for a few minutes in order to let the pasta soak in the flavors. 2. Add the broth and cook (stirring occasionally) until the liquid is mostly absorbed and the pastina is cooked. 3. add the parmesan and splash of cream, mix until combined and fluffy. 4. garnish with more parmesan, a drizzle of evoo and black pepper and enjoy!!! #pastina #pasta #foodtock #food #carbs #hungry
