DAY 9 of healthy meals to make at home are these high protein, four ingredient bagels! These bagels are so easy to make and are packed with protein from the Greek yogurt. I love making these for breakfast with an egg for an egg sandwich! Ingredients: 1 cup Greek yogurt 1 cup flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt Instructions: 1. Mix all ingredients into a bowl 2. Divide dough into four equal parts and shape into bagels 3. Spray with cooking oil and top with everything but the bagel seasoning 4. Air fry at 375 degrees for about 12-15 minutes #highproteinmeals #highproteinrecipes #highproteinbreakfast #healthymealideas #healthymealprep #easybreakfastideas #healthybreakfastideas #homemadebagels #airfryerrecipes #creatorsearchinsights
Replying to @traceoutloud for the dough// 2/3 cup warm water 2 tsp dry active yeast 2 tbsp granulated sugar 3 cups flour 1 tsp salt 1 lb strawberries lemon zest + 1 tsp lemon juice 2 tbsp brown sugar 1/2 chopped beet + 1 tbsp brown sugar + 1 tbsp water for the poaching// 8-10 cups water 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 egg + 1 tbsp water for egg wash directions// 1. Rough chop the strawberries & add to a pot over medium heat with lemon juice, zest and sugar. Cover and let simmer, gently mash down some of the strawberries and let cool. In a food processor or blender, add the chopped beets + sugar + water, pulse until smooth. 2. In a large bowl, add the water, dry yeast & sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved & let it stand for about 5 mins or until it gets bubbly. Add the flour, salt & strawberry + beet mix to the bowl & stir until well combined. If too sticky, add more flour 1 tbsp at a time until a dough ball forms. 2. Knead dough for several minutes & leave in a oiled bowl covered with a damp towel. Let rise until it doubles in size, about 1 hr. Punch the dough and cut into 8-10 equal pieces, roll into a ball and cover again with the towel to let rise for 30 mins. 4. Poke a hole in the center of each risen dough ball to form the bagel shape. place a parchment paper square under each bagel & allow these to rise once more for another 30 mins under the damp towel. While these rise, prepare your poaching water, bringing water + brown sugar to a gentle boil. 5. Using a spider or a slotted spoon, place a bagel including the parchment paper into the simmering water (2 will fit in the pot at once), poach each side for 1 min and set on a baking rack (keeping the parchment square on the bottom) once removed from the pot while you poach the rest. 5. Using a pastry brush, mix the egg + 1 tbsp water and coat the bagels in the egg wash. 6. Arrange bagels on their parchment squares on a baking sheet & bake at 415 F for 20-25 mins; until very lightly browned. Strawberry cream cheese: cream cheese, a few cut strawberries, splash of vanilla + tbsp sugar! Stir or blend. Enjoy! xo Hailey💘 Allow to cool before slicing, toasting & enjoying! xo Hailey 🤍 #newyear #Recipe #homemadefood #madefromscratch #newyeargoals #healthy #homemadefood #homemadebread #homemadebagels #bagel

the recipe: 2 cups flour 2 cups greek yogurt 2tsp baking powder dash of salt 1 egg (egg wash) seasoning of choice but I used everything but bagel seasoning + you should too the macros: 317 calories 18g of protein 52g of carbs 4.25g of fat if you want to use non fat greek yogurt you absolutely can, this brand was recommended to me via TikTok and I’m very happy with the outcome. I did plan to boil my bagels before baking them but my baby was ready for her nap and I just wanted to get them in the oven lol Consider using almond flour if you’re looking for a lower carb - higher protein alternative. You may also consider adding cottage cheese, additional egg, etc. this is a base recipe and I’m looking forward to playing around with different versions of it. I did oil my non stick pan and bake on 400 degrees for 20 minutes, then turned the oven down to 350 and baked for another 15 minutes after flipping the bagels.
