After a whole year of my baby asking me for a cell phone, I kept telling her, “We’ll talk about it when you hit double digits.” But recently, something shifted. She left her iPad behind in Florida. She’s had is for almost three years without ever losing it but her screen was cracked bad. My heart broke for my baby, when she came home and said multiple times “I can’t believe I left my iPad behind”. Days before Christmas I decided, you know what? It’s time. Instead of buying something new, I upgraded myself to the iPhone 16 and gifted her my iPhone 14 Pro Max, which was practically brand new ! I had just paid it off in November, so it felt like perfect timing, and I wasn’t about to take on two payments anyway. Her reaction was priceless. First, there was a little giggle, then hesitation (as she later told me, she was wondering if it was actually a phone). But when it clicked, she jumped on me, crying tears of joy. And let me tell you, those tears made me cry too! Seeing her so happy was everything. It hit me hard in that moment, my baby is growing up so fast. She’s only 8, but wow, time really flies. As much as I wish I could slow things down, moments like these remind me just how special it is to watch her grow and create memories together 💙🎄❤️
