JAMAICAN JERK CHICKEN It’s pure vibes when jerk chicken meat liquor and a Jamaican and baby this was a gooodttt time . Ingredients 4 -5lbs of chicken ( I use leg quarters but you can use which ever pieces you liked best ) scallion Onion Garlic Ginger Pimento seed ( or grounded ) Scotch bonnett pepper Bell peppers ( yellow, red ,orange ) Food browning ( for color ) Cayenne pepper Garlic powder Onion powder Jerk season powder Or use a bottle of walkers wood jerk season It’s the best ) not sponsored! How to make the Jerk Marinate To a blender or food processor add onions, scallion ,garlic, ginger ,scotch bonnet pepper, bell peppers ,grounded pimento seeds ( or whole ones ) add browning for color . Blend all this ingredients until a puree is formed. How to prep the Chicken to a clean bowl you’re going to add your wash and cleaned chicken pieces then season the chicken with ; onion powder, garlic powder , cayenne pepper and jerk seasoning meat powder. Then add half of your jerk marinate to the chicken in the bowl and mix well until well combined on each pieces. Cover and let that marinate for 1 hour to overnight . FOOLPROOF TIP THE longer the meat is left to marinate the more intense the flavor of the marinate will be in the meat. Method Fire up your outdoor grill Allow to come to 350° Then add marinated Chicken directly unto grill Close grill Open and turn constantly to avoid burning and to ensure that chicken is cooked properly This part is optional I call this the wet water ) ( Get a bowl with walkers wood jerk seasoning or homemade jerk seasoning. Add water to dilute along with some cinnamon And intermittently wet the chicken to avoid it from drying out plus that extra boost of flavor ) Other ppl use beer but I recently started to sprinkle some dragon stout over my chicken and it was a GOOOODTT TYMEE !!! The chicken should be ready when the internet reaches 165 white meat and 175 dark meat Serve while hot !!
