Pardon the bad rhyme…but your weight gain isn’t Santa Claus 🎅🏼it’s perimenopause. 💡 Perimenopause is the transition phase that happens before menopause when hormone levels fluctuate, often causing symptoms like irregular periods, hot flashes, and mood swings. It’s your body’s natural way of adjusting to the next chapter of life. You can also experience weight gain and bloating 🎈 I had a dear friend who was so frustrated because she kept on gaining weight for no reason and her doctors poo’ed poo’ed her ! (Funny how female “ailments” are often dismissed 😢) yet she kept on advocating for herself (sad, right?) and finally discovered she was in…..perimenopause. She got her doctor to measure her hormone levels and discussed with her hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It was a game-changer for my friend !! She lost the weight and now Is working out with weights, eating more protein as she readies her body for the next phase in her life ! Perimenopause is normal, but it doesn’t have to be a mystery.
