It’s not every day you see a Scottish Fold outdoors, knocking on windows to be let back inside. This Fancy Boi appeared out of nowhere at the end of last week, knocking on the back door of one of our favorite colony feeders. This is a colony that @Carroll.Street.Cat.Club has helped manage for years and she and the feeders know all the local felines who frequent the area. We instantly jumped into action, imagining that one of our poor neighbors was suddenly missing their beloved pet and must be frantically looking for him. In less than 30 minutes, he was safely in our care. Rescuers are only human, so we too are suckers for the big eyes, button nose, foldy ears, and floofy tail of our newest friend. But seeing Fancy Cats like this can be a bit of a bummer. When we posted our friends photos on neighborhood forums, asking if anyone was missing their pet, we instantly got multiple, multiple offers from people offering to foster or adopt him. That support is greatly appreciated, of course, but rarely do we get such outpouring for our short-haired tabbies or tuxedos. Currently, there are MULTIPLE cats in our care that need new foster placements and we are struggling to find people willing to open their homes to them. This Fancy Fellow will get the same treatment all our friendly, seemingly lost cats get. We are posting FOUND flyers, we are reaching out to neighbors, and we are scanning him for a microchip. We hope his humans are out there and looking for him, but for now, he is safe inside with us . His soft, fancy paws shall not feel another single snowflake this winter.
