For those who don't follow us on other socials.. A large mass was found in Riot's chest at the end of December. It was determined to be cancerous, but we are still waiting on biopsy results to confirm type. The steriods have been making him feel a lot better but they won't work long term. We are hoping for a treatable type so we can proceed with chemo since due to the location and proximity to organs, as well as sensitivity to anesthetic, he is not a candidate for surgery. Radiation is another potential option but it would be extremely stressful for him to undergo vs chemo, and it costs *thousands* more. So unfortunately do not think that is a feasible option. We are currently doing natural supplements as well. "You can't train foxes" We hear this all the time. While it is not easy and takes consistency, patience, and a strong bond they are very capable of learning with positive reinforcement. Unfortunately they just do not do well outside of their environment given their skittish nature. There are a few that have been desensitized and do well but that is a rarity because they are known to spook easily and do not recover from that. Unlike dogs, foxes do not forgive easily. When you break their trust they won't continue to want to hangout with you until you show you can be trusted again. They are smart and often only bond to one or two people. If you think a pet fox is for you please do plenty of homework on how they behave especially after maturity and feel free to ask questions. They are much more than a cute face and require specialized care.
